Our Student
Representative Council is known as Kookaburra Council. A student, elected from each class,
attends Kookaburra Council meetings each fortnight under the guidance of staff members,
Mrs. Jacqui Brettig and Mr. Brian Marshall. Students discuss issues raised at class
meetings and make recommendations for consideration by staff and School Council.

In addition to being a forum for
student ideas, Kookaburra Council also organizes fun activities for students, including
regular student discos and the very popular Casual Days. This year several charities
will be supported by the activities of Kookaburra Council. |
Hundreds of dollars have been
donated to the following organizations.
The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
The Anti-Cancer Foundation
The Salvation Army. |

"At
the start of the year, I was very proud to be selected as
Treasurer. My job is to attend all
meetings and present a Treasurer's Report on the Kookaburra
Council funds. I look forward to a fun, but challenging year."

" I
enjoy being involved
with Kookaburra Council. The class representatives gain a lot of confidence from being
involved, sharing ideas between meetings and classes and voting on issues. I enjoy
encouraging their participation and development of responsibility".

"Once again our Student
Representative Council will work to give students a strong voice in our school.
Our Year 7s have led the way for our younger Kookaburra Council reps by their active
participation in discussions and willingness to be involved in projects. Through this
participation we have successfully made many improvements to school procedures and
facilities.
