Chairperson

Harriet Whiley Samantha Williams Stefan Potts

Our Student Representative Council is known as Kookaburra Council. A student, elected from each class, attends Kookaburra Council meetings each fortnight under the guidance of staff members, Mrs. Jacqui Brettig and Mr. Brian Marshall. Students discuss issues raised at class meetings and make recommendations for consideration by staff and School Council.

In addition to being a forum for student ideas, Kookaburra Council also organizes fun activities for students, including regular student discos and the very popular Casual Days. This year several charities will be supported by the activities of Kookaburra Council.

Hundreds of dollars have been donated to the following organizations.
                 The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
                 The Anti-Cancer Foundation
                 The Salvation Army.

Our Student Leaders

" I am very proud to have been selected Chairperson of the 2000 Kookaburra Council. I am in charge of running the meetings and organizing discos and other student activities. I am looking forward to doing both and more for the school."

Harriet Whiley Chairperson)

"I'm very proud to be selected Secretary of Kookaburra Council this year. I'm looking forward to participating in discos and other events. I hope to help make many changes that will be beneficial to all students in the school."

Samantha Williams (Secretary)

"At the start of the year, I was very proud to be selected as Treasurer.  My job is to attend all meetings and present a Treasurer's Report on the Kookaburra Council funds. I look forward to a fun, but challenging year."

Stefan Potts (Treasurer)

" I enjoy being involved with Kookaburra Council. The class representatives gain a lot of confidence from being involved, sharing ideas between meetings and classes and voting on issues. I enjoy encouraging their participation and development of responsibility".

Jacqui Brettig
     (Staff Representative)

"Once again our Student Representative Council will work to give students a strong voice in our school.
Our Year 7s have led the way for our younger Kookaburra Council reps by their active participation in discussions and willingness to be involved in projects. Through this participation we have successfully made many improvements to school procedures and facilities.
