The
Role of Governing Council
The Governing Council works
in partnership with the principals and staff to oversee the
development and implementation of our Partnerships
Plan. The Partnerships Plan sets out what we value as
a school, our codes of practice, our core business and the
strategic directions we wish to take to bring about whole
school improvements. A copy of our Partnerships
Plan 2001- 2003 can be sent to you.

Message from the Chairperson
This should be another very interesting and
productive year for Governing Council. Our school is
now operating under Partnerships 21, but we don't see this
as a big change in the way we operate; more like a small
evolutionary step. At our meetings we will be placing
more emphasis on knowing about the school priority areas and
discussing the progress that is being made towards the
targets that have been set in our Partnerships Plan and
Annual Plan.
We will also continue to contribute to
the development of school policies. We believe we have a important role to play
in the development of parents' knowledge and
understandings about educational issues and we look forward
to providing more of the high quality information sessions
and workshops that our school community has highly valued
over the past 5 years.
